A consortium of civic clubs, homeowners associations and environmental groups, the Citrus County Council has a long and proud history of grass-roots democracy in action. Through the Standing Committees - Environment & Natural Resources, Governance & Fiscal Watch, and Education - the Council seeks to exert a positive influence on quality of life issues, specifically: protecting natural resources, managing growth, providing for high quality education, and ensuring that government officials function in accordance with their mandates and in the best interests of the citizens in Citrus County.

Save the Homosassa River Alliance, Inc. is a 501c(3) not-for-profit organization whose mission is to help restore, protect and perpetuate the native ecological integrity of the Homosassa River System.

Three Sisters Springs is a complex of three spring areas, with many vents and sand boils that help feed Kings Bay, the headwaters of Crystal River in Citrus County, Florida. These springs also constitute one of the most important natural warm-water refuges for the endangered Florida manatee. The Three Sisters Springs property is in danger of being developed and land acquisition of the springs and vulnerable parts of the spring basin remains the single most important protection strategy.

The purpose of the Florida Native Plant Society is to promote the preservation, conservantion and restoration of the native plants and native plant communities of Florida.

Founded in 1996, SouthWings is a conservation and public benefit aviation non-profit that provides skilled pilots and aerial education to enhance conservation efforts across the Southeast. We provide a means to educate public and elected officials, media, community leaders, researchers and conservation organizations.
