Our friend, L. C. Alexander, passed away this month. He was born September 8, 1921 in Amsterdam, MO, son of the late James and Lottie (Howe) Alexander. He died July 1, 2009 in Inverness. Mr. Alexander was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II serving as a Tailgunner on a B17. He was the South East District Manager for National Cash Register Co. where he was employed for 43 years.
Mr. Alexander was one of the moving forces early in the development of our organization and served on the Board for many years. He provided invaluable assistance in collecting and analyzing the scientific data needed to back up the organization positions. Current programs for water management and wildlife preservation owe much to his tireless efforts. He was a wise and true friend and we will miss him.
Our prayers and condolences are extended to his wife Betty, his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. |
